Every Chrome user knows that the browser uses more RAM than its competitors, but things are getting better with the last few updates significantly improving performance. Sources reveal that Chrome’s 55th update will be the one to really change things, bringing memory use down by 50% compared to the version that’s out now.
Of course, user experience will vary from machine to machine, and power users will obviously have to be more realistic with their expectations. But for the most part, the update, which is expected in December of this year, will be a real game changer – especially for users with older, less powerful machines.
