Blizzard Collabs With GOG.COM To Bring Back The Original Diablo

Blizzard's Original Diablo

The 1996 Classic Diablo

Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to re-release select games like Diablo and Warcraft. The first in the lineup is Diablo, the 1996 classic action role playing game. Players are going to be reintroduced to the harsh but deeply rewarding world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo is now available via digital distribution on GOG.COM for $9.99 (RM 41). This will be the first time the original Diablo will be available online. In other words, players will be able to experience the game as it was in 1996. It will have period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and also matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle-net.

The game supports Windows 10 and is updated to fix a bunch of bugs. Players will be able to choose which version they want to play from the the launcher. Rob Bridenbecker, the Vice President and Executive Producer at Blizzard Entertainment was bummed that the games weren’t available. He says:

“We were bummed that these iconic games weren’t available to our players, so we‘re very happy to work with the
crew at GOG.com to rectify that,” he said.

“This has been a long time coming and we hope our players will be excited to jump back into these
classic titles.”

Diablo is the first Classic title Blizzard is planning to release. They are planning with GOG.COM to re-release of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft II.
