BlackBerry Phones Will Continue Under New Agreement

BlackBerry, the father of all smartphones now reduced to the annals of history is in fact not quite done yet! Under new management and still with stockpile of cash, the Formula One championship sponsor, has successfully transformed itself into a reputable mobile security software firm and growing in stature.

Known for an almost unpenetrable security feature like on the 850, Curve or the Z10, the company has now teamed up with TCL Communication of Hong Kong (makers of Flash and Alcatel devices) to license its software and service suite, as well as the brand assets, who will design, manufacture, sell and provide customer support for BlackBerry-branded mobile devices.

BlackBerry will continue to control and develop its security and software solutions, and maintain trusted BlackBerry security software, while TCL Communication will manage all sales and distribution and serve as a global distributor of new BlackBerry-branded mobile devices along with dedicated sales teams.

TCL was already involved with the introduction of DTEK 50 and DTEK60 the android based BlackBerry smartphone, with the agreement in place this will be the first global licensing deal for both parties.
