Lead actor in an all black cast Marvel Comic Universe Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman has passed away after battling colon cancer for 4 years. The rising star was just 43.
Boseman is a rare commodity in Hollywood which struggles to portray black actors in leading roles, he won accolades in the Oscar winning 12 Years of Slave and became a fan favourite after portraying King T’Challa in Black Panther. This was the last tweet posted on Boseman’s account.

Spinning of from MCO Avengers, Black Panther played by Boseman had a predominantly black cast against a backdrop of what has happening in America with racial identity crisis. Even though it being a Marvel movie, the plot had undertones of black discrimination and subtle messages calling for equality. Boseman was often asked to mimic the Wakanda salute by fans, the star happily obliged, the identity became synonymous among the community and was seen as hallmark during the Black Lives Matter movement. He truly impacted the lives and community he served.
