Black Mirror is an anthology series from Netflix that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. The latest season is set to premiere on 5th June, exclusively on Netflix. And yes, the latest season features an episode with Miley Cyrus, called “RACHEL, JACK AND ASHLEY, TOO”.
The basic premise from Netlfix is that the episode features;
“A lonely teenager yearns to connect with her favorite pop star – whose charmed existence isn’t quite as rosy it appears…”
Oooh. Daunting.
Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.
The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.
While the show rose to prominence for it’s utterly grim view of life, and the future, the newest season is upon us. The show in and of itself, does reflect a lot to the current generations. The show often displays things that are quite literally already possible. Well, almost possible anyway. I mean, check out the pictures below, of a dog from an episode of the show AND a real life functional robot. Any similarities?

Sure, this just might be a coincidence, but the Boston Dynamic Robot can already open doors! Just like that episode of Black Mirror. I guess the show really is a reflection on the current climate of tech. But please no one actually create killer robot dogs. For the Love of God, Don’t.
