Battle Arena Malaysia Acquires Top Dota 2 Team, Called B.A.E

If you’re a fan of Dota 2, there’s now a new local eSports team in town. Battle Arena Malaysia teams up with internationally-renowned Dota 2 player Ng “YamateH” Wei Poon from Southeast Asia to form the Battle Arena Elites (B.A.E). YamateH will also act as head of this new Dota 2 division to groom the next best team in the region.

The current roster comprises of up-and-coming players Hiew “AlaCrity” Teck Yoong and Chong “ciaoba” Wei Lun. YamateH scouted them based on their high rankings in the Southeast Asian MMR ladder. Also joining to help guide these players are Malaysian Dota 2 veterans Chan “WinteR” Litt-Binn, and Lim “Net” Wai Pern.

In terms of roles, below are the current positions assigned to the players:

  • ciaoba – Position 1 (Carry)
  • AlaCrity – Position 2 (Mid)
  • Ohaiyo – Position 3 (Offlane)
  • Net – Position 4 (Support)
  • YamateH – Position 5 (Support)

“These players are considered pretty active in the esports scene, and we’re also good friends in Dota 2,” says YamateH, captain and drafter of Battle Arena Elites. “For now we’re aiming to get into each tournament’s regional qualifiers, and are of course even more hopeful to qualify to LAN finals.”

Battle Arena Malaysia is Southeast Asia’s biggest eSports club. The venue, located at Jaya Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya, boasts an area of 17,000 square feet. Here, there are also 110 high-end PCs for customers to experience.

“Battle Arena’s mission has always been to provide a supportive environment where aspiring gamers can hone their skills and also kickstart a fruitful career in esports,” says Irwin Chan, Head of Business Development at Battle Arena Malaysia. “Therefore, having our very own gaming teams has always been a plan in the pipeline.”

Battle Arena Elites will compete in The International 2018 Qualifiers. Furthermore, in the near future, Battle Arena hopes to extend its gaming teams into other prominent esports games.
