Sony’s SmartBand is now voice enabled!

Sony has come a long way since the introduction of its first SmartBand. The SmartBand has been taken to a whole new level with the introduction of voice features. Now called the SmartBand Talk, it is Sony’s latest SmartWear with the ability to handle calls and voice commands alongside an always-on curved 1.4in E-ink display that shows you notifications and the time.

Like the SmartBand, the SmartBand Talk connects to your smartphone via the Lifelog app to show you your daily activities. The SmartBand Talk comes equipped with built-in microphone and speaker to handle calls. Now you can be like one of those secret agents in the movies talking to the smart device on your wrist. Pretty cool eh! You can opt to assign your own sounds to life bookmarks and voice commands for specific actions on the smartphone.  The SmartBand Talk, as expected, is waterproof and will be available in Black and White. Other colour variations will be made available at a later time.

Developers should also be excited as Sony is opening up the API for partners to integrate services with the Lifelog as well as giving developers a chance to input fresh ideas.

The SmartBand Talk will be made available in Malaysia 13 November onwards at a recommended retail price of RM570, exclusively at KLCC and The Curve Sony Stores only. Other participating Sony outlets are expected to retail the SmartBand by the end of this month.
