ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG), in collaboration with Xbox, has unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X – two new handheld gaming devices featuring redesigned ergonomics, new software integration, and upgraded AMD processors.
The ROG Xbox Ally X is powered by AMD’s new Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and includes an NPU, positioning it to support upcoming AI features. The base ROG Xbox Ally features the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, offering lower power draw and enhanced battery life with its 60Wh pack.
Both devices launch globally during the 2025 holiday season in markets including the UK, US, Japan, and several EU and Asia-Pacific countries.
Designed for comfort and performance, the handhelds now feature Xbox-style impulse triggers, refined grips, and improved haptics. Players are greeted with a full-screen Xbox interface on startup, running on Windows 11 but tailored for console-style navigation via Game Bar.
The handhelds also support AMD’s latest visual enhancements, including FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) for higher framerates.
