Asus Enters The VR Space

Not to be outdone by its neighbours, Asus took to the stage at IFA with its own range of ground breaking notebooks and devices. Vice President Eric Chen (above flanked by Microsoft and Intel representatives) unveiled the ASUS Windows Mixed Reality Headset, ZenBook Flip 14 and ZenBook Flip 15 and also ZenBook Flip S and VivoBook Flip 14.

“Our devotion and ambition to create the incredible is evident in our latest lineup of 2-in-1 laptops, and I am very excited to be back at IFA to share them with European consumers,” said Mr. Chen. A first into the VR space, Asus has been persuaded by the growth in the segment and has collaborated with Microsoft to release the a its ow reality headset built on Windows 10 OS. The headset features a cool design with 3D-pattern aesthetic and is said to be made of lightweight materials.

Apart from the key announcement, the Taiwanese company continued on its revitalisation of the Zen series products in conjunction with Intel’s 8th Gen processors, with the ZenBook Flip 14, the world’s thinnest 2-in-1, ZenBook Flip 15, a 2-in-1 laptop with a 4K UHD display and gaming-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 graphics; ZenBook Flip S, the world’s thinnest convertible laptop; and VivoBook Flip 14, a convertible laptop with a NanoEdge design that fits a 14-inch Full HD display into a frame the size of a typical 13-inch laptop.

The IFA showcase also witness Asus prowess in networking products and monitors, with the inclusion of RT-AC86U, a powerful AC2900-class Wi-Fi router that can offer extreme speeds and wide coverage; RT-AX88U, the first ASUS router with next-generation 802.11ax Wi-Fi for speeds of up to 5952Mbps; and Designo Curve MX38VC and Designo Curve MX32VQ, iF Award-winning 37.5-inch and 31.5-inch wide monitors with gorgeous sundial-inspired designs and exquisite edge-to-edge frameless curved IPS panels that provide stunning levels of detail and wide viewing angles.
