With the top of the line ASUS ROG Zephyrus and ASUS TUF gaming laptops already being introduced, it’s time to talk about the ASUS ROG Strix lineup. ASUS ROG offers two new exciting options, the ASUS ROG Strix GL703 SCAR Edition and the ASUS ROG Strix GL503 HERO Edition. Both gaming laptops are targeted towards specific gaming genres, mainly first-person shooters (FPS) and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games respectively.
ASUS ROG Strix GL703 SCAR Edition
Much like the rest of the ASUS ROG and ASUS TUF gaming lineup, the ROG Strix GL703 comes with the 8th Generation Intel i7-8750HQ processor. It will also come with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU with 8GB GDDR5V RAM. Storage-wise, it will carry 16GB of RAM, a 1TB solid state hybrid drive (SSHD) with an additional 256GB PCIe SSD. It will also come with a 15.6-inch Full HD wide-view IPS display panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 300 nits of brightness.
Other features of the ROG Strix GL703 includes NVIDIA G-Sync technology, a desktop-style keyboard with Aura Sync and N-key rollover as well as an Anti-Dust Cooling (ADC) system. The ROG Strix GL703 will also come with two other variants, mainly a GTX 1060 and a GTX 1050Ti version. Both versions will come with 8GB RAM while the GTX 1050Ti model will also have a smaller 128GB PCIe SSD.
ASUS ROG Strix GL503 HERO Edition
The ROG Strix GL503 is built like the ROG Strix GL703, but with a little less flair. While it is packing the same 8th Generation Intel i7-8750HQ processor, it shares the same DNA as the GTX 1050Ti model of the ROG Strix GL703. This means is that it will have a 1TB SSHD with a 128GB PCIe SSD and the same 15.6-inch Full HD IPS wide-view display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 300 nits of brightness.
The ROG Strix GL503 will also have similar features as the ROG Strix GL703, which includes a desktop-style keyboard with Aura Sync, N-key rollover and a 20-million-key- press lifespan. It will also carry the ADC system for better thermal performance.
ASUS ROG G703
A gaming gargantuan, the ASUS ROG G703 will be carrying a factory-overclocked 8th Generation Intel i9-8950HK processor. It can hold up to 64GB of DDR4 SDRAM and it can also carry three M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSDs alongside either four 256GB or 512GB SSDs. There will also be a 2.5-inch 2TB solid state hybrid drive (SSHD). At its core is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU with 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM and a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.
There are two other variants for the ASUS ROG G703, the first of which carries an 8th Generation Intel i7-8750HQ processor with up to 64GB of DDR4 SDRAM, three M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSDs and four 256GB SSDs. It can also accommodate a 1TB SSHD as well as a GTX 1080 GPU and the same display panel as the former.
The last variant carries the same exact specs as the previous model, but with a downgraded GPU to a GTX 1070.
