With Intel launching the latest line of super-powerful mobile CPUs, it was only a matter of time before we see them in laptops. ASUS Republic of Gamers are launching their own gaming laptop with an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK under the hood: the ROG G703. This is the leading laptop in a new line-up from ASUS Republic of Gamers that feature the new 8th Gen Intel mobile CPUs.
A quick refresher, the i9-8950HK is a 6-core, 12-thread unlocked processor that can turbo boost up to 4.80GHz, depending on temperature. The ROG G703 also packs an 8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and 32GB DDR4 RAM. On top of that, this machine also boasts a 17.3-inch Full HD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also has the NVIDIA G-Sync, Anti-Dust Cooling system and an RGB keyboard as well as Aura Sync functionalities that allow synchronised lighting among all your gaming peripherals. The laptop comes with two 256GB SSDs and a 2TB HDD for all your storage needs.
You can get your hands on the ROG G703 for the small fee of RM19,999. It’ll be a short while more before you can get your hands on it though; it’s only out in May.
As mentioned earlier, the ROG G703 is only one of the new gaming laptops that ASUS are releasing. They’re launching a revamped version of the ROG GX501 that was out last year. It comes with an 8th Gen Core i7-8750H and 24GB of RAM. This is on top of the 8GB NVIDA GTX 1080 Max-Q and 15.6-inch Full HD screen with 144Hz refresh rate. It also has an RGB Keyboard and Aura Sync capabilities; you can get one for RM15,999.
Another notable laptop that ASUS ROG are releasing is the ROG GM501. Sharing the same CPU as the GX501, the GM501 has either the GTX 1070 Max-Q or 1060 Max-Q. It also only comes with 16GB of RAM. It is priced at RM7,999 for the 1060 version and RM9,299 for the 1070 one. Both the ROG GX501 and GM501 will be available at the end of April.
