Following launches in India and Indonesia, ASUS is now bringing the ZenFone Max Pro M1 to Malaysia. The Taiwanese manufacturer reveals some information on what’s under the hood, and announces a release window for the smartphone.
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 is a 5.5″ mid-range smartphone that packs a 6″ 18:9 FHD+ Full View display. Underneath, the phone is host to a powerful 14nm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform with a Kryo 260 CPU. It also holds a massive 5000 mAh battery, which is much larger than the recent Redmi Note 5’s 4000 mAh. The phone models go up to 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage.
The smartphone has dual cameras that each capture at 16MP. Recording options include 4k UHD recording or 1080p 60fps FHD recording. The second rear camera supports a portrait mode. As for the front, the selfie camera also supports 16MP. Relevant features are a live beautification tool, as well as a softlight LED flash.
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 allows users to have two SIM cards simultaneously. It also supports a microSD slot for additional storage.
In terms of UI, the smartphone does away with the ZenUI of previous models and instead runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo.
There are currently no details on the smartphone’s pricing, but the prices from Indonesia give an idea.
ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 is being sold in Indonesia as three models:
- 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage model sells at Rp 2,299,000 (RM 647).
- 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage model sells at Rp 2,799,000 (RM 788).
- 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage model sells at Rp 3,299,000 (RM 928).
Expect the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 to come to Malaysia some time in mid-May.
