Apple users in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom who are using the three-pronged adapter are at risk of being shocked so the company is recalling the wall plug adapters. Apple is aware of six incidents worldwide. The company said that the recall doesn’t involve Apple USB power adapters. Shipped between 2003 and 2010 with Mac and certain iOS devices, the plugs were included with the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit.
“Customer safety is always Apple’s top priority, and we have voluntarily decided to exchange affected wall plug adapters with a new adapter, free of charge,” Apple said on its support page. The wall plugs that are affected are white with no letters in the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. You need to find your device’s serial number in advance to exchange the adapter. Next, you can exchange the adapter at an Apple Service Provider, by appointment at an Apple Store or by contacting Apple Support.
