Apple has opened their first stores in Southeast Asia, at Singapore’s busy and popular shopping street Orchard Road.

The store welcomed thousands of customers who queued up since the night before to catch a glimpse of the store when it first opens its doors on 27 May 2017. They were greeted by Apple’s senior vice president of Retail Angela Ahrendts and the store’s 237 employees when doors opened at 10 a.m.

The store features a 120-foot glass, with 16 interior trees continue the city’s greenery throughout the space.

The Forum is home to “Today at Apple,” new in-store programming that includes 60 free, hands-on sessions.

Highlights of the store includes twin curved Castagna stone staircases

A unique 25-foot canopy protects Apple Orchard Road from tropical sunlight and provides shelter from the rain.

Apple Stores around the world welcome over 1 million customers a day.
