Google announces yesterday that their sweetest and smartest yet OS is coming to all Nexus users. The new OS is laden with new improved features that will make your user experience with Android so much better.

The update will be sent over the air to Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.

And of course, the new Nexus 5X and 6P will come ready with the 6.0 OS.

Now on Tap

Now on Tap is a feature that gives you assistance, no matter what task you are running on your smartphone. It instantly pulls up relevant information and helps you increase efficiency.

A tap and hold on the home button will bring up maps, information on the location and shortcuts to relevant apps such as calendar.

More efficient battery

Google also ran a test on Nexus 5s and Nexus 6s to measure the standby battery life when a device operates Android M against one that don’t. WIth Doze, which puts your phone automatically on deep sleep state when it is idle, and App Standby, you can now have more than 30% longer battery life.

Revamped App Permissions

With the new model, you have greater control over access to your information when you install an app. Gone are the days when you no longer have to bother what access you give to apps because you have no choice in the matter if you want to use them.

Android M now allows you to give or revoke permissions on Settings whenever you wish.

Fully supported fingerprint scanning software

Fingerprint scanning is now simplified and native to the OS rather than relying on the hardware manufacturer. It will improve the lock screen mechanism and can be used for checkout with Android Pay.
