The conquest for cloud services expands for Alibaba Cloud as the Chinese IaaS providers enters the India market with its newly completed data center in Mumbai. A key market with fast growing economy and thousands of enterprises looking for scale and alternatives for such services.

Alibaba Cloud will offers its Indian clients with a comprehensive suite of its cloud products including large-scale computing, storage resources, and big-data processing capabilities. Other data center service offerings include elastic computing, database, storage and content delivery, networking, analytics and big data, containers, middleware, and security. The cloud service in now in 33 zones across 16 economic centers globally, with coverage extending across mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, the Middle East, Europe, India and the U.S. (East and West Coast).

Simon Hu, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Group and President of Alibaba Cloud views India as a strategic entry its quest to become the number one public cloud service provider in the region. “As we build out the Alibaba Cloud network globally, India is another important piece that is now firmly in place.”

Alibaba Cloud has partnered with Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), a subsidiary of Reliance Communications that enables direct access to Alibaba Cloud Express Connect via GCX’s CLOUD X Fusion service. Another partner it has tied up with is Tata Communications.
