I am an avid/semi-professional gamer when it comes to GTA V Online. Having been part of the scene for almost three years now, GTA V was the first game I played when I got my PS4 and through it all, is still one of the games I keep turning back to, especially when there’s nothing else worth playing. Together with my motley crew of friends, we would get together every weekend to grind it out on GTA through its Motorcycle Club (MC) or CEO missions to earn some virtual dollars, which will then be spent trying to look pimp as hell to impress people we will probably never meet.

What makes GTA V Online such an addictive game is thanks to Rockstar Games, who have constantly rolled out patch updates from time to time, just when you think the game is getting a bit stale for your taste. One way I did see this update coming was Rockstar’s small update, which gave double cash and double RP (reputation points) on Heist missions, the greatest update the Gods of Rockstar Games gave to us. As Heists are the best way to earn cash while still having a good mix of challenges and fun thrown together, it never really bore the greatest fruit as the most you can earn through the final Heist job was GTA$1.25 million. Known as ‘The Pacific Standard Job’, what most players would do was exploit a host of bugs and glitches that allowed them to replay the same finale time and time again but still get to keep all the cash at the same time. Although Rockstar did patch out the infamous ‘Kuruma glitch’, players have since found other creative ways to go around it (I have a few of my own as well). However, I digress; it was obvious that a big patch update was coming as Rockstar Games introduced a great way for players to start making some serious moolah, which will then be spent on its upcoming update – Gunrunning.

As the name suggests, the Gunrunning update is all about the arms trade, which focuses on you and your group of friends (or randoms) smuggling high-value weapons as well as collecting a wide array of customisable vehicles with the ability to humiliate your fellow GTA V Online gamers throughout the great city of San Andreas. The most recent CEO update (Import/Export) gave you a slight taste of what to expect with the likes of the Technical Aqua and the Ruiner 2000.

To participate in the upcoming Gunrunning release, one has to become either a CEO, MC President or a VIP, which then gives you the chance to purchase an underground bunker located in the Grand Senora Dessert. This bunker will become your base of operations where you can begin your tirade of illegal arms dealing, which will grant you plenty of GTA$ as well as unlocking new upgrades for vehicles and weapons. Future arms dealers can also purchase a Mobile Operations Center (MOC) – a customisable, oversized tractor-trailer that will become your base on wheels, essentially. What’s great about the MOC is the ability to start missions on-the-go while also being equipped with a living area and vehicle/weapon workshops.
