A Quick Look At Microsoft HoloLens

So heres what we know about the HoloLens not to be confused with HaloLens..no there isnt such a thing. Now back to the what we’re suppose to talk about, the HoloLens presumably does not require phones to be attached to it (makes in lighter) , its cordless and no need for tethering, everything not what’s out there, a pretty good start for Microsoft. The stand alone unit uses transparent lens and sensors so that you can see through into the real world and project the holographic images over it like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, so no bumping into walls and you can still wear them as shades. Its got adjustable headband to fit snugly on any skull sizes and built in spatial sound that allows you to hear the holograms wherever they are in the room with pinpoint precision. Commands should be voice and gesture, the intelligence from Cortana and Kinect has been applied. A project that brought all of Redmond together.

Powered by Windows 10, developers have already been invited to build applications for it, there is already buzz in the tech community on the many uses for the Hololens, expect to hear about it at the Build Conference this May. Imagine walking on Planet Mars without even being there, rover will be the eyes on the red planet and you get to experience it as if you are physically there, in fact scientists at NASA Jet Propulsion Lab are already working with Microsoft on ways of using Hololens in their next missions. We hope to see the device commercially used in medical and other innovative fields where the possibilities could be boundless and new creations generated.

Heres a video on the Nasa project.
