Digi telecommunications has revealed a new prepaid plan giving its subscribers another reason to stay on with the refreshed telco. Data being the key driver for uptakes and loyalty being seen by operators as a rarity in the prepaid segment, the new plan offers customers a RM10 Digi Smart Prepaid with RM16 worth of credit a whopping 60% additional worth, the plan comes with RM7 preloaded and the balance RM9 is given staggered over a 3 month period.

Inclusive of GST, users can use the prepaid for internet, social messaging unlimited voice calls and sms to 3 registred Smart Buddyz. A quick check shows the plan is slightly better than what Hotlink has to offer for a RM10 pack with only RM5 credit preloaded and Xpax by Celcom on the other hand has a RM5 Magic Sim which includes an RM3 credit ,200MB data, free call and sms (20 min or SMS).

Looks like the new plan by Digi is going to get the others strategizing to up their ante in retaining subscribers in the extremely competitive nature of the prepaid segment.
