There Could Be A Smartphone With An Insane 192MP Camera Revealed Next Month

Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10 Pro

I guess the higher the megapixels, the better the camera right? Well, presumably, that’s the overall gist of most average consumers and is an indication of where the industry is heading towards. Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra was the peak of this trend, sporting a whopping 108MP main shooter, and (seemingly gimmicky) 100x zoom.

But MOVE OVER Samsung, there’s a new player in town. Leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo posted this:

He mentions that there will be a device with a Snapdragon 765 mobile platform, and a 192MP camera sensor. Considering the Snapdragon 765 processor, it’s probably not going to be a flagship. Which is  in-line with Xiaomi’s past devices and history, as they were the first to release a 108MP smartphone, the Mi Note 10 lineup. Even that phone was powered with a Snapdragon 730G, so like I said, it’s reminiscent of Xiaomi.

Though there is no mention whatsoever on who would be making the device with a 192MP camera sensor. The Snapdragon 765 can support 192MP images, but there might be some problems with that. Considering the huge pixels, pictures could take forever to capture a full-res 192MP shot. Thus far, we haven’t seen a smartphone with a 192MP camera, so this could be a pre-cursor to that future.

You’ll probably want to take this whole thing with a grain of salt because there’s nothing to substantiate the claim. But, we’ll know more in a month as Digital Chat Station mentioned in his Weibo post. Let’s just see how this one plays out.
