Cyanogen Inc, who are responsible for the OS shut down earlier this week but a group of its developers have reemerged with LineageOS.

LineageOS plans to go back to Cyanogen’s roots of community based ROM building.

It’s sad to see the company close, especially since it rejected Google’s offer for a buyer over just 2 years ago when they disagreed on what they were worth. Well, at least the spirit (and source code) of CyanogenMod will continue with this new project.
