Cherry MX Silent switches have been exclusive to Corsair and have been featured on the ‘Strafe RGB MX Silent’ mechanical keyboard.

Then, the MX Silent switches were only available in the MX Red flavour – meaning they have a low actuation force of 45 cN. Red switches are typically sold as a gaming switch, with the light weighting and linear travel allowing for more rapid actuation.

Now though, Corsair’s privilege has come to an end, and with it Cherry have released new versions – an additional Black switch variant and RGB versions of the Red and Black Silent switches.

Cherry achieves the ‘silence’ by using a rubber pad, which does change the total travel of the key. The RGB versions are naturally finished in clear plastic housings.
