Brushing aside earlier rumours about an impending unveiling of the ninth generation Galaxy smartphone by Samsung possibly at CES, the leaks now point to a February launch instead.

Samsung has moved away from launching flagships at the Vegas consumer electronic fair for some time now and instead chooses to have a stand alone event for a more intimate ra-ra. So when the rumours were out about CES 2018 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 launch the news was not too convincing. The S8 was launched in March but setting the clock behind by a month for the S9 makes sense and the Korean phone maker seeks to tap into the iPhone X market and give customers options.

Media hubs report a possible to editions Galaxy S9 and S9+ with larger screen could debut, design wise the report suggest a similar appearance to S8 is in the offing, its as though all flagships have lost their design mojo starting with Apple and the iPhone series. Lets hope Samsung does last minute adjustments to its design.

Leaked images show the fingerprint scanner placed behind under two camera’s, but these are just illustration and we might even see a complete omission of the feature, opting for facial or on screen scanner. Looking that the RM5k iPhone X is selling like hot cakes don’t be surprised if Samsung take the same route in pricing the S9 high up in the premium category.
