Vivo today finally lifted the curtains on it’s NEX 3 smartphone here in Malaysia. With a 99.6% screen to body ratio, the phone is a real looker. It’s also packed with all sorts of innovative features, such as it’s notch-free Waterfall FullView display, a triple camera setup that includes a 64MP main shooter that doesn’t make it look like a washing machine (we’re looking at you, Huawei), and other intelligent applications.
Just looking at the device, you know its a premium model. The groundbreaking POLED Waterfall Fullview Display stretches the smartphone screen beyond the limits of a conventional display, giving it a sleek and futuristic look. At 6.89 inches, it’s by no means a small phone, and yet it looks so sleek. One of the very first things you’ll find yourself thinking upon picking up the device is “where on earth are the buttons on this thing?!” Well, there aren’t any. The Vivo NEX 3 hides physical buttons from sight, instead opting for a haptic touch sensor for it’s volume and power button.
At first glance, the device honestly looks just like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, except better because not only does it lose the Halo camera setup on the back, but it also loses the notch. The Vivo NEX 3 features a 16MP pop up front facing camera to complement its 64MP main shooter, 13MP wide angle and 13MP telescopic triple camera setup.
Under the hood, the NEX 3 rocks Qualcomms top of the line Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and UFS 3.0 high speed flash memory. It really doesn’t get much better than that in terms of processing power. To top it off, the phone is equipped with 256GB of storage as well. In terms of battery, it comes with an impressive 4500mAh battery pack and supports FlashCharge 22.5W charging.
If you’re an audiophile, fret not. The AK4377A independent audio chip delivers the quintessential vivo Hi-Fi experience, allowing for a more immersive music experience.
The Nex 3 is available in the Glowing Night colourway, which is basically a variation of black and is available today onwards for RM3899.
