Use Grab & Don’t Pay For It… Till The End Of the Month, With PayLater

Grab is releasing a new service, called PayLater which is to help you track how much you’re actually spending on Grab every month. This new feature is currently being piloted with select users, and how it works is that it’s essentially a postpaid service, that lets your use all Grab services. This include Grab Rides, GrabFood, and GrabExpress. So you’ll use all these services, as usual, but on pay for it at the end of the month. There’s no extra charge, unless you don’t make the payment on time.

I think that’s pretty cool, I use Grab quite a lot, but I think having a feature like this night make me unaware just how much money I actually have to spend? If that makes sense? Then paying it off at the end of the month, definitely is going to be a heartbreaking experience. But that’s just me.

Here’s some reason from Grab, on why exactly you should use PayLater;

  1. ” Consolidate all your Grab bills for better clarity on how much you are spending on Grab.

  2. Enjoy a more flexible payment on all your Grab services.

  3. No additional charges if bill payment is made on time.”

How does it work?

So how does it actually work? When users activate PayLater, they’ll get access to a unique pre-approved PayLater Amount based on their user profile that can used on this Grab transactions. At the end of the month, users will receive a single bill with their consolidated transactions, that they can pay for with GrabPay before the due date.

The payment due date will be by the 7th of the month in which the bill was generated. But Grab says they’ll be reminding payment reminders, so you don’t forget to pay up, and helps you to avoid any fees.

PayLater availability

Beginning September 2019, only eligible users will be able to opt in to use the feature. Eligibility depends on various factors, such as how long you have been a Grab user, frequency of usage, GrabRewards tier and more.

Some other need to know information:

  1. Users will have a fixed pre-approved limit in their PayLater.

  2. Users will still receive their GrabRewards points when they use PayLater or GrabPay.

  3. PayLater feature will be suspended for users who do not make payment within the due date, till amount is cleared.

  4. If you pay your bill in access, the balance will be carried forward to the following month.

  5. If you don’t see the PayLater option, it means you have not been added to the pilot group yet, however, we are rolling out in stages so you may be eligible for PayLater in the future.
