Huawei Facilitating The Growth Of Mobile Gaming; Let’s See How That Goes

Recognising the rapid growth of mobile gaming users globally, HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS) is looking to strengthen its presence in the region, by participating in the Tokyo Game Show 2019 (TGS 2019). The event will be held from 12-15 September 2019 at the Makuhari Messe Convention Centre in Tokyo. HMS will reveal their offerings catered to mobile gaming developers during the event, and aims to open more collaborations and business opportunities with local partners.

Serving more than 530 million mobile users across over 170 countries, HMS is home to HUAWEI AppGallery, HUAWEI’s official app distribution platform. First opened to the global market in April 2018, AppGallery has currently on-boarded over ten thousand apps outside of China.

According to Newzoo’s Global Games Market Report, the global gaming market revenue has reached USD 137.9 billion in 2018, among which USD 70.3 billion is derived from mobile games, making up for more than half of the global gaming revenue.

Jervis Su, Vice President of Cloud Service, HUAWEI Consumer Business Group, said,

“Understanding the gravity of this data, HMS is driven to support mobile gaming developers with innovative and holistic solutions on our platforms to cater to this growing market size.

“HMS is leveraging on TGS 2019 as a platform to meet and understand the needs of mobile gaming developers. This is an opportunity for us to get in touch with them and learn more about their app development needs, market sentiments, and to explore new business opportunities. We would like to support them every step of the way to help them grow their business together with us,” Jervis continued.

But considering that most of the things that come out of mobile gaming right now, it’s a bit meh in my opinion. And I’m not exactly sure if Huawei’s AppStore can compete with Google’s, considering it’s a more universal option. But that’s just me.
