Announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event 2019, the Galaxy Watch Active will be available in Malaysia on the 8th of March. The Active will be going for RM 799.
The Galaxy Watch Active has a 1.1 inch AMOLED display, has built in GPS, an NFC chip which supports Samsung Pay and a 230 mAh battery. Other than that, there’s 0.75GB + 4GB memory on the wearable and includes 5ATM water resistance which means you can swim with it but not for long periods of time. Also only for under 165 feet though so try not to swim too deep.
As the watch suggests in the name Active, it’s built for fitness. It has a heart rate monitor, in built step tracker and other health information. Keep in mind these features will only be available via the Samsung Health app synced with a compatible device.
Another health benefit that the Active will have, is tracking your sleep. It’ll track your 4 stages of sleep and you’ll be able to check it out when you wake up.
The heart rate monitor will also let you know if there are any irregular heart rates. It’ll remind you to take a break and try to calm down.
All these features seem like it’ll be a pretty good wearable. But let’s wait and see how it performs in person before thinking about buying it. We’ll update the site with anymore relevant information so be sure to check it!
