Down To The Razer Edge: Razer’s Online Store Closing This Month

Gaming fans, bad news.

The Razer Game Store, a digital store that has been offering discounts on gaming accessories as well as exclusive deals on games, will be no more come end-February, less than a year after its launch last April 2018.

Since the launch, gaming fans had been enjoying multiple offers such as Steam, Uplay and Origin keys with which to download games. Purchases came with Razer Silver, the name for the rewards and loyalty points, subsequently used to buy accessories and gift vouchers. Each time a customer bought a Razer game at its digital store, they were rewarded with Razer Silvers.

The reason for the shuttering of the digital store has been given as “realignment plans,” according to a statement published on Razer Game Store, and it seems accessory discounts bundled with game purchases will no longer be available.

Downloaded games will continue to work even after the Feb 28 shutdown, but purchased keys and discount vouchers need to be used up before that day.
