Xiaomi has announced that their Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite will be entering the Malaysian markets allowing ardent fans of the Mi 8 series to enjoy the series’ best features.
The news comes after Xiaomi’s successful distribution of their smartphones amounting to 100 million this year with a total shipment over 6 million with the Mi 8 series being the major contributor to the success.

Mi 8 Pro: Made for Performance
Mi 8 Pro takes it one step further with a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor. The all new pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor give the Mi 8 Pro a star for enabling a faster and more power-efficient unlocking process. Unlike other technologies, the unlocking process only respond to the dedicated pressure and is activated when a finger is placed on the screen.
The Mi 8 Pro is powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon TM 845 and uses a transparent glass back,
exposing a decorative cover crafted using electronic components, making it one of the most unique-looking smartphones in the market. Similar to Mi 8, the Mi 8 Pro sports the 12MP + 12MP AI dual camera, which received a DxOMark score of 105 for photography.

Bolstering 4-axis OIS and 2x optical zoom, plus a bunch of handy AI features such as AI portrait, AI
beautify and AI scene detection, this is one of the best camera setup in the world. Mi 8 Pro comes in Transparent Titanium with an 8GB + 128GB setup. It will be available on November 10 for RM 2399 at Authorised Mi Stores.
Mi 8 Lite: Made for Selfies
Inspired by the works of famous French Impressionist painter Claude Monet, whose paintings
are renowned for bringing out the effect of light on natural colors, the glass back of Mi 8 Lite employs an advanced NCVM color process, resulting in a mesmerizing mirror-like gradient finish. The 7.5mm slim body of Mi 8 Lite contains a 6.2 6-inch 19:9 LCD full screen display, with a FHD+ (2246 x 1080) screen resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 surface on the front.

Starting from November 10, Mi 8 Lite will be available in two setups. The 4GB+64GB setup for RM 999, available at Shopee Mi Official Store (First sale date on November 10) and Lazada Xiaomi Flagship Store (First sale date on November 11). The 6GB +128GB setup for RM 1299, available exclusively at Authorised Mi Stores. Both setups will come in two colours, Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
