Sir Daniel Fortesque is back with a whole new look in MediEvil for the PlayStation 4. A remake of the classic PlayStation title, this marks a revisit to the game after a span 20 years.
Sony announced MediEvil for the PlayStation 4 at PlayStation Experience 2017. Many people assumed it would simply be a remaster. Instead, Sony has gone all out, rebuilding the game from the ground up for its latest console.
The announcement trailer showcases the graphical changes well with a comparison between the PS1 and PS4 versions. The difference is certainly night and day, with the PS4 version looking remarkably better. Thankfully, it looks like the gameplay that fans know and love remains untouched.
In MediEvil, you play as Sir Dan who fell on the field of battle. He receives a chance at redemption when his nemesis, the evil sorcerer Lord Zarok, accidentally resurrects him 100 years after that fateful day. It’s up to the skeletal Sir Dan to put a stop to Lord Zarok from an army of undead that threatens the Kingdom of Gallowmere.
The game is being developed by Sony in partnership with Other Ocean Interactive. Though not much else is known about the game, expect more information in the coming months.
MediEvil is set to launch for the PlayStation 4 in 2019.
