The new POCOPHONE F1 from Xiaomi is official in Malaysia. After its launch in India, the phone was launched in Jakarta today and regional availability was announced, including Malaysia.
As a recap, the POCOPHONE F1 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 – the same processor in many flagship today. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. The screen is a 6.18-inch FHD+ display with a notch, and it is cooled with a LiquidCool system that will lower temperature during intense gaming sessions.
It also comes with a generous 4000mAh battery on board, up to 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage for almost limitless storage option. The camera on the POCOPHONE F1 consists of a main 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with Dual Pixel Autofocus with a secondary 5MP sensor on the back and a 20MP selfie shooter on the front. POCOPHONE F1 also comes with an infrared illuminator and infrared camera on the front, allowing the AI face unlock feature to securely unlock the device both in pitch-dark conditions as well as in bright daylight.

Alvin Tse, Head of POCO Global, said: “POCO stands for ‘a little’—we believe in starting small but dreaming big. As a small outfit within Xiaomi, POCO has the freedom to start from scratch, zeroing in on the product choices and technologies that matter. This is why we have created a smartphone that delivers unbelievable performance, focusing on the core innovations that truly matter, which we believe will resonate with tech enthusiasts.”
The POCOPHONE F1 will be coming to Malaysia on 30th August 2018, with two variants available (6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB) and in two colours – Graphite Black and Steel Blue. The models will be priced at RM 1,237 and RM 1,428 respectively, but will see a price increase to RM 1,299 and 1,499 once SST is implemented. Unfortunately no mention if the Armoured Edition will be made available here in Malaysia.
