Netflix Starts To Show Short Promos Between Videos

Netflix is currently running trials with selected accounts where the streaming giant will play short promo clips between videos watched by its customer. The promotional videos are for Netflix’s own content, and some users are crying foul as these videos are seen as ads on the ad-free stream platform.

According to TechCrunch who reached out to Netflix, the trial one of the many tests being run by the company to gauge users feedback on targeted content. It has said that only a small subset of users are currently seeing this test, so it is not a global rollout by the company to its whole subscriber base.

On the other hand, this is a good way for customers to find new content to watch. As the clips are short previews of shows already on Netflix, it technically is not a pad ad-spot, as the previews are already being paid by the consumer in their monthly subscription.

Even so, this move is already dividing the Netflix community as some are open to the preview clips, while others are complaining loudly that they do not want it. We will see if Netflix will continue with the feature, or it will go away unnoticed int he near future.
