Last night, we stayed up to bring you the latest on EVERYTHING Apple announced in their WWDC keynote. Now, here are the details to the stuff that matters.
One of the more interesting announcement is the 18-core, 22 Teraflops workstation class iMac Pro designed for pro customers who works in environments requiring a high-throughput system in a modular design. The iMac Pro is optimised for performance for advanced graphics editing, virtual reality content creation and real-time 3D rendering.
Fitted with a 27-inch Retina 5K display, it is powered by next-generation Intel Xeon processors up to 18 cores, and features the new Radeon Pro Vega GPU with up to 16GB of on-package high-bandwidth memory (HBM2), delivering up to 11 Teraflops of single-precision compute power for real-time 3D rendering and immersive, high frame rate VR. For half-precision computation, ideal for machine learning, iMac Pro delivers up to 22 Teraflops of performance.
With an all-flash architecture and all-new thermal design, iMac Pro delivers up to 80 percent more cooling capacity in the same thin and seamless iMac design.With four Thunderbolt 3 ports, iMac Pro can connect to up to two high-performance RAID arrays and two 5K displays at the same time. iMac Pro also supports up to 4TB of SSD and up to 128GB of ECC memory. The iMac Pro also features 10Gb Ethernet for up to 10 times faster networking.
Comes in space gray, iMac Pro is scheduled to ship in December starting at US$4,999 (approx RM 21500).

Apart from a new member, the iMac and MacBook are also getting a major upgrade – with the entire lineup to be refreshed with KabyLake porcessors, as well as faster storage options and brighter Retina displays.
iMac
The updated iMac gets Kaby Lake processors up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.5 GHz. Fusion Drive is now standard on all 27-inch configurations and the top-end 21.5-inch iMac. SSD storage options are now up to 50 percent faster, and iMac comes with Thunderbolt 3.
The Retina 5K display also gets an upgrade, making the screen 43% brighter at 500 nits and with support for 1 billion colours, delivering an even more vivid and true-to-life viewing experience. Powered by new Radeon Pro 500-series graphics with up to 8GB of vRAM. The 21.5-inch model delivers up to three times faster performance and the 27-inch model is up to 50 percent faster.
Also added a Retina 4K display and discrete graphics to the US$1,299 (approx RM 5600) 21.5-inch iMac.
MacBook and MacBook Pro
MacBook now features Kaby Lake processors up to 1.3 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz and up to 50 percent faster SSD, and supports up to twice the memory.
The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro gets Kaby Lake processors up to 3.5 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.0 GHz, and the 15-inch MacBook Pro goes up to 3.1 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.1 GHz. The 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes standard with more powerful discrete graphics with more video memory.
Also updated the 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8 GHz processor. Also, there’s a new US$1,299 (approx RM 5600) 13-inch MacBook Pro.
