The Garmin Vivosmart HR is designed in a way that makes it rarely noticeable among most clothing options. The design is black and has a matte surface for the wearable parts. It is also graded for a 5 ATM waterproof rating.
The band tracks your steps, sleep and flights of stairs ascended, and constantly keep tabs on your heart rate. The HR addition to the band will monitor the amount of active minutes and notifies you whenever it detects that you’re desk-bound for a long time. It will notify you with a short vibration from the Move bar. In order to clear the Move bar, it is compulsory for you to move
In the digital world, music has been a must for most of our activities, which run on our smartphones. The Garmin Vivosmart HR works perfectly with any music-playing app. It allows you to skip music just by navigating the band. Of course, the Vivosmart HR also displays your mobile notifications from time to time.
PERSONAL COACH
Face it. What’s your main reason to buy a fitbit? To track your health and fitness of course. The Garmin Vivosmart HR has definitely did that part right.
Swiping through the screen you’ll get updates on your steps against your goal, flights of stairs climbed, active minutes during the week, calories burned, distance walked in the day and your current heart rate.
The Garmin Vivosmart HR collects reports on your heart throughout the day and displays your resting heart rate on the watch. The band’s accuracy is the main attraction of this device.
HEALTH GOES DIGITAL
The Vivosmart HR syncs with the Garmin Connect app, which is available for both Android and iOS. The app has the most complete functions and features that I have seen, although the GUI layout is not the easiest to navigate.
The daily activity report comes in charts and graphs which would seem complicated at first, but after a couple of times using it, you’ll understand it very well.
The app consists of 5 main menus; Snapshots, Leaderboard, Calendar, News Feed and More. Snapshots is your current day – swipe the screen to look at all the different daily metrics. To see the history of activities, go to the relevant snapshot and then tap on the graph for a week’s summary. You can also adjust the comparison period over 7 days, 4 weeks or 12 months.
Leaderboard shows your progress compared with that of your friends with the similar app. Calendar lets you see a list of all your days and how active you were, and you can clearly see steps in blue, workouts in green and badges earned in orange. The News Feed shows tracked workouts.
The Garmin Vivosmart HR is a worthy contender in the realm of smart wearables.
Verdict: The ultimate personal fitness coach designed to fit your life perfectly.
