When Moto announced that it will now add a Smart Speaker mod with Amazon Alexa as part of its Mods for the Moto Z, we were speechless. If we can choose one mod for the year, this will be it.

Although Alexa is not yet available in this region, hearing her tell the weather or pick a play list on the phone must be exhilarating. Having already tested Echo and Dot for sometime, this writer has fallen in love with her voice. On the Moto users can play music, get news, ask questions and if you have smart home appliances, you can command Alexa to adjust your home temperature and turn your lights on before arriving at home.

There are more possible functions we would like to see that can end up as a Mod and the Alexa Smart Speaker is a start.  It has been a slow uptake even here in Malaysia for the Moto Z, but with more useful Mods like this one, we can now see the bigger picture team Moto has for the Moto Z. For that reason the Moto Mods Smart Speaker with Alexa definitely makes our X’ Mas wish list this year.
