I’ve yet to see anyone carrying this phone among the people I fraternise with, the OnePlus phones has a rather mystique appeal to it my group are the bandwagon sort hence lies the disparities. In Malaysia the Chinese brand had a carrier agreement with Maxis whereby the OnePlus One which globally has a strict by invite only sale model, went on a different approach with the telco giving all its users an opportunity to own the 64GB SandStone Black phone at RRP of RM1199 and if youre a MaxisOne Plan at only RM859.
Now the second iteration of the OnePlus is scheduled to launch on July 28 at 7:30 AM IST, called the OnePlus 2 (nice name…quaint) the company will continue with its invite based program for the new smartphone as well. (As of publishing of this news Maxis could not confirm if they will carry the devices). Similar to the previous series, OnePlus 2 will be available via an invite-only system where potential buyers will need to have a 2-specific invite to buy the smartphone. However, there has been numerous griefs with this invite based sales system and the company has rightfully accepted it, but has assured customers that for the OnePlus 2 all this will change with probably a much improved logistics mechanism, larger inventory and giving more invites out-all this in place to avoid the frustrating experience many had on the OnePlus One.
In order for you to land a unit is still the same, first you will need to follow the companys social media platforms and subscribe to their newsletter for the invites there is also an alternative to get these club like invites, though a reservation by entering your email and it will be sent once the invites are made available. However priority will be given for the early fans on their social forums. Sharable invites will still continue whereby you can share the invites once youve purchased your OnePlus 2 this time the company plans to send them out much faster it added.
