TIME took up big advertisement spots in dailies to announce the arrival of 1GB high speed internet speeds for Malaysian’s and also reduce existing price for the 100Mbps and 500Mbs offerings. We could positively say this has been what consumers have waiting for the longest of time (no pun intended) and the move is definitely a welcome proposition.
After teasing users on social media for weeks, TIME has finally revealed its plan to offer cheaper rates for its existing 100Mbps plan cutting the pricing from RM129 to the psychological barrier of below RM100 to RM99. The 500Mbps high speed broadband has been now dropped to RM139 and the introduction of 1GB will be the first in the country for household at an affordable RM199. Average Malaysians who have only experienced speeds of 30Mbps on any given day, will be waking to a new phenomena of 1000Mbps, that is quite difficult to phantom at the moment.
Existing customers will see their monthly bills reflecting the changes, and for new fans if you’re living on high rise building and TIME has coverage in your area, we suggest you jump on the deal immediately. The company has also come out explaining why it’s fibre lines are only available in certain location and confined to buildings. Having been deploying it’s own end to end fibre connectivity, TIME is in direct competition with state owned GLC TM, and the approval given by authorities was restricted for it’s roll-out. Despite seeking permission to move into residential areas numerous time, the operator has never been able to get approval as stated in the advertisement. But things are about to change, with the new government looking to alter the status quo and upend monopoly,, a more healthy competitive broadband market is about to emerge.
In short there is only more thing to add to the whole scenario and what better way than to quote Nobel prize winner Bob Dylan… “Times they are a-Changin”
