Available for both prepaid and postpaid customers, Digi users can now simply add purchases from the Google Play Store to their postpaid bill or having the purchase deducted from their prepaid airtime balance.

“As the first telco in Malaysia to offer direct billing of purchases from Google Play Store to our customers, we’re clearly signaling our intention to lead the way in enabling internet services that enrich our customers’ experience online”, says Christian Thrane, Chief Marketing Office of Digi.

Google Malaysia has also taken the opportunity to announce the launch of the Google Play Newsstand in Malaysia. The Google Play Newsstand is an app that brings together various online newspapers, websites, blogs, print magazines and books into one simple reading experience. Currently, news portals such as The Malaysian insider and KiniTV as well as newspapers like The Star, Berita Harian and many others are featured on the app. More content is expected to be added to the app as time goes on.
