Box2s iBox2s Review

With music services like Spotify and Deezer making their rounds here, accessing your favourite tunes can be as easy as pulling your phone out. However, sharing your (sometimes questionable) taste in music with your peers is a challenge, especially when the speakers on your device are lacklustre, or if your device on hand has no built-in audio solution and you refuse to resort to sharing earpieces. Enter the iBox2s, a cuboid Bluetooth speaker that you can carry around easily.

Collect Them All
At first glance, the iBox2s sure doesn’t look like much, with its small stature and bright paintjob making it look like a toy rather than a portable speaker thanks to the five colours it comes in – black, pink, orange, green and blue. However, the design is minimalistic and clean with all the connector ports found on the back and the power button at the bottom. Its single 40mm driver is tucked within the plastic shell along with the 400mAh battery, which provides an estimated four to five hours of playback. Charging is done via the microUSB port on the back.

Don’t Stop the Music
Once connected to my smartphone via line-in, it quickly became clear the iBox2s has great audio performance. Whether it was Tom Jones or Foo Fighters, this little box did its best. Just take note of the fact that you will hear distortions when the volume is pushed to the max. With the iBox2s, you can now share your music to a larger crowd. But beware: the crowd may not appreciate your taste in music.
