Samsung Malaysia Hosts Largest Smartphone Launch Yet with the Samsung Galaxy Note9

Continuing with its penchant for theatrics, Samsung’s newest flagship has finally arrived in Malaysia through a spectacular launch event yesterday. A crowd of 2,000 – consisting of members of the media and Samsung dealers from across Malaysia – gathered in Arena Axiata, Bukit Jalil to witness the local unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note9.

The launch event, the first ever to include Samsung dealers, was also the largest and most over the top launch of any Samsung smartphone by far. We’re not sure how will they top it at the next launch event.

Ushered in by bodyguards on nine superbikes and nine drones,

Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics  arrived in utmost style – ferried by a McLaren supercar, no less. In his opening speech, Kim highlighted that consumers are consistently looking out for a smartphone that can do it all – from taking great photos, to smooth gaming experiences, to business presentations.

“I’m glad to announce that now, you have the perfect option in the Galaxy Note9,” he said. “The Galaxy Note9 combines power, productivity, sheer endurance, and entertainment into one single device. Coupled with a strong defence-grade security feature, this is the go-to device that fits every need.”

In demonstrating the capabilities and potential within the Galaxy Note9, Samsung Malaysia also invited all six influencers who travelled to the Global Unpacked in New York earlier this month. From photography and fuss-free selfie-taking, to getting creative with the Galaxy Note9, the device can do it all.

Adding to the theatrics, the event also saw the world’s leading Taekwondo demo team – K-Tigers – showing off their ass-kicking moves, combined with their skills of move to the beat. It was truly an interesting artform – who knew Taekwondo Dance was thing?
