After teasing us for a week, Blizzard releases Overwatch’s latest hero: the hammer-wielding Brigitte Lindholm, daughter of Torbjorn Lindholm. She is the latest character to be added to the Overwatch Public Test Realm (PTR) where players can test out the character before it becomes a permanent character.
A support hero through and through, Brigitte is an engineer with armour-constructing abilities, able to heal her allies over time while deploying shields, which can be used both offensively and defensively. She can also create drops for allies, which instantly heals allies or give armour to teammates with full health. At her strongest, Brigitte brings forth a battle cry, which grants a substantial amount of armour to nearby allies while increasing her own movement speed.

There is also a Developer Update, featuring Game Director Jeff Kaplan as he introduces the 27th hero in the Overwatch line-up. In the video, he talks about Brigitte’s back story, her abilities as well as the overall strategy on how to best use Brigitte on the battle field.
