Don’t let the glossy chassis deceive you. Despite the brushed metal back cover encasing its slim design, the Lenovo S860 is a large device with a surprisingly modest price tag and decent user offering.

Quad-Powered
Running on a MediaTek Quad-Core processor, overall performance is very much impressive and I expected it to do more if not for the slightly clumsy and cluttered stock ROM that comes with it. As for its size, the width of the device may be a little too much for folks with petite hands but it fits nicely in mind.

Mixed Optics
In terms of the display, it does a great job at delivering bright, vivid colors at 720p resolution. The same cannot be said of the not-too-impressive camera. While the rear snapper comes with an 8MP sensor with built-in LED flash and a 1.6MP sits at the front, both are marginally good but don’t do well in low-light. I guess there must be some compromise for the given price. Image processing quality is decent for day-to-day use as long as you’re okay with shoddy noise processing and slightly splotchy pictures.

Nice Feeling
Probably the thing I like most about this phone is its weight and build. At almost 200g, it rests with a reassuring balance on my palm – as opposed to lighter phones that feel like they could slip off or jump right out of your hands. The smooth metal finish at the back makes you feel like you’re holding an expensive phone so that’s a feel-good plus point for me.

Multi-Communicator
Conveniently, it supports dual SIM cards, which is great for professionals who maintain two phone numbers but wouldn’t want to lug around two smart devices at the time. Battery life is awesome too. On standby, the S860 can last up to 40 days and is capable of delivering up to 24 hours of talk time. Now there is no need to carry a power bank with you like all the other geeks with power-thirsty premium devices.
