Blackberry has annouced its first ever Android smartphone last month called PRIV as its name’s indicated, it’s big on protecting you privacy. The company has also released the price and availability of the new smartphone with pre-ordering opened for the US at US$699, Canada for $899 CDN and the UK for GBP599.
The smartphone maker also quotes a Cambridge study that nearly 9 out of 10 Android smartphones are exposed to critical vulnerability when it comes to their personal data and communications. Hence, Blackberry PRIV promises mobile provacy, security and productivity.
The brand continues to be popular among corporate workers and high-profile individuals looking to secure their personal information. And Blackberry wants to continue tapping into this market which is ever widening with more and more smartphone users are putting more emphasis on security and privacy.
The device sticks to a design that is unconventional today with a curved screen slider and a physical keyboard. But other than that, there’s not much that we know about the specs of the new Blackberry smartphone yet.
Interested customers on other countries should be able to pre-order the PRIV soon, so just check regularly on Blackberry’s website for more updates.
