The Final Fantasy VII (FFVII) Remake is releasing very soon, and now we’ve got a closer look at some of the characters, designs, and battle systems from new screenshots shared to us by Square Enix. The demo of the remake is already out, so if you were keen on experiencing the game first hand before the slated April release, best to check it out.

Keep in mind that there are updated controls and gameplay aspects, so go into it with an open mind if you were a long time fan of the FFVII series.

To recap, the story of the game follows Cloud, an elite SOLDIER operator turned mercenary, that takes part in an Avalanche operation to destroy Mako Reactor 1 in the city of Midgar. Mako is the lifeblood of the planet, and also the fuel that sustains the city of Midgar. However, Shinra Electric Power Company has exploited the resources to power their reactors, and have seized control of the world.

After a series of events that includes a bombing that plunges the city into chaos, Cloud is tormented by visions of a bitter enemy long thought to be dead. After several events happen in game, you will then be tasked with shaping the destiny of the entire world.

I don’t wanna give too much away, especially for fans who are first timers to the FFVII games. Long time fans, I’d suggest you prepare yourself to relive the journey that is Final Fantasy VII all over again. It’s bound to be a ride.
