Lenovo is taking the definition ‘phablet’ to a whole new level, the maker of the Vibe series smartphone feels the optimum size for a handheld large screen phone is beyond what Samsung or Apple is churning with their Note and Plus. In fact the company has released the Lenovo Phab with a gargantuan display size of 6.98″ (that’s half of my 13″ laptop) on its standard version and 6.8″ on the Lenovo Phab Plus version.

The Android mobile OS models come with HD IPS display on the standard Phab and FHD for the Plus, Dolby Atmos sound offering dual SIM with 4G LTE capability. Both have the similar camera installed- 13Mp for the rear and 5Mp for the front. Based on the specifications, the market is mid-range and looks like the Chinese company is going for volume. There is a big market for large display phones for entertainment and gaming, and these could satisfy the pent up demand for affordable phablets.

The phones were part of Lenovo’s avalanche launch of products at IFA Berlin this week stay tuned as we share more of the exciting releases from the company and others.
