Joe Biden Camp Twists Story On Sexual Assault Allegations To Clear His Name; Is He Just As Bad As Trump?

With the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping through the United States, the US government seems to have stepped up after a slow start to its response. With testing capacity now at 200,000 per day with plans to further bring it up, it seems that things are finally start take off.

That being said, president Trump’s delayed handling at the start of the pandemic is hard to forget, and he’s not done himself any favours, with some most of the things he’s had to say about the virus either being ridiculous or downright nonsensical.

As such, the media has been on his ass more so than usual for the past month or two. With all the shit that comes out of the presidents mouth however, it’s easy to miss out on what other politicians in the US are up to. Trump’s rival in the presidential race, Joe Biden has also been in the news lately, and not for good reason either.

The former vice president has been accused of sexual assault by Tara Reade, a former staff member on Biden’s team in recent weeks and to make matters worse, his camp has recently been twisting a New York Times story to defend the Democratic nominee against the allegations.

It seems that the Biden camp have all been given the same talking points when it comes to addressing the allegations, which would normally be fine, except these talking points include mention of a “thorough review by the New York Times”, in which it goes on to explain “has led to the truth: this incident did not happen.”

The problem here is that the Times never mentions or states that Reade’s accusations are not credible, or that the incident didn’t happen. This is what the Times report concluded:
“No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden.”
and below is the specific language from the talking points given to Biden’s team:
“Biden believes that all women have the right to be heard and to have their claims thoroughly review. In this case, a thorough review by the New York Times has led to the truth: this incident did not happen.”
You see the problem here? All the Times report concludes is that Reade’s allegations are corroborated by her brother and a friend and that the people they interviewed can’t remember anything like it happening.
For the Biden camp to flat out take the Times report out of context just goes to show that Biden may not be that much better than Trump. I mean, of course he’s not as controversial as Trump is, but when it comes to being a stand up guy, it’s slowly becoming debatable.
At the end of the day, I suppose all politicians are the same. Still though, with all the flak that Trump is getting, it would be unfair not to highlight the red flags going off with the message that Biden’s camp is trying to send here.
