First Impressions: Vivo S1 Pro; So Far, So Good

We spent the afternoon with Vivo Malaysia and the brand new S1 Pro smartphone today at the Museum Of Illusions in KL. Of course, we had seen the phone beforehand but we’ve never actually got the chance to get our hands on it. In pictures, the unorthodox camera layout seemed a little off putting to me, so it’s safe to say I had my doubts.

Upon getting my hands on the phone, I have to admit that I warmed up to it a little. The phone comes in an eye catching “Fancy Sky” colourway that makes it hard to keep your eyes off it. That being said, the Museum Of Illusions isn’t exactly the best place to test out the phone’s camera. With all the props and setups available in there, any camera will do, really.

The Vivo S1 Pro comes equipped with a 32MP selfie camera, which is pretty neat on paper, but how will it fare in real life? Based on my 7 hours with the phone, pretty damn good. Of course it’s still too early to say but check out this one selfie for yourself.

The back of the phone is really where the party is at though. The phone comes equipped with a quad camera setup with the main star here being the 48MP AI sensor. Like I’ve mentioned earlier, the Museum Of Illusions isn’t the best place to test the camera so I headed out to snap some pictures. You’ll have to wait for the full review for a better opinion but first impressions are great. The super macro especially stands out.

The Vivo S1 Pro releases in Malaysia on the 3rd of December. Stay tuned for the review for a more in depth look at the phone and whether or not we think it’s a device worthy of your hard earned cash!
