Genting Resort will be transformed to a magical wonderland this Christmas with Pokemon and colourful creatures wondering the grounds of the theme resort for the first time. From 1 December 2018 to 28 February 2019, the Pokémon Festival will bring all the familiar antics from the popular electronic game to live and mingle with guests and captivate visitors with their amazing powers and adorable nature.
“Resorts World Genting has always strived to be a magical wonderland for all our visitors, and for the next three months, we will become an enchanted Pokémon wonderland, ready for fans to fulfil the Pokémon n Trainer code – Gotta Catch ‘Em All!,” said Kevin Tann, Vice President of Promotions & Entertainment, Resorts World Genting.
Guests visiting the three month event can expect to be enthralled with the giant 40 foot Christmas tree adorned with Pokemon paraphernalia like Pikachu, Charmander, Snorlax and Eevee. There will be dance stages during the event performed by eight Pikachu, and this dance stage is the first time it will be performed in Malaysia. The festival will be a culmination of Pokeman live events held worldwide – including the annual Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama. Fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with the most famous Pokémon of all at Pikachu Land. A giant inflatable 6-metre-high Pikachu, surrounded by 50 smaller Pikachu plushies, will make the Skytropolis Funland its temporary home starting December 8.
Living up to the game, people can get their hands on experiencing it live by tracking down all 32 of the creatures and try to catch them. And to become a master Pokémon trainer, there are programmes who can receive a trainer book specific places set up across the mall.
